TMZ writes:

TMZ EXCLUSIVE: Dr. Frank Ryan — Famous Plastic Surgeon Dies

According to law enforcement, Dr. Ryan’s jeep went over the side of Pacific Coast Highway yesterday at 4:33 PM. The Jeep landed on rocks and lifeguards initially tried to help Ryan, to no avail.

Ryan was trapped in the vehicle and had major head injuries. The Ventura County Fire Department tried hoisting Ryan using a helicopter, but the attempt was called off. Ryan was pronounced dead at the scene.

Minutes before the crash, Ryan tweeted, “After 25 years of driving by, I finally hiked to the top of the giant sand dune on the pch west of Malibu. Much harder than it looks! Whew!”

Among Ryan’s patients — Gene Simmons, Shauna Sand and Vince Neil.

Dr. Ryan’s Cause of Death — Blunt Force Trauma

Dr. Frank Ryan died of “blunt force head injuries” … this according to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s office … which just completed an autopsy on the famous surgeon.

As for toxicology results … officials tell TMZ the process usually takes “about 8 weeks” before anything can be determined.

As TMZ first reported, Dr. Ryan — the surgeon who operated on a slew of famous Hollywood stars — died yesterday after his Jeep veered off Pacific Coast Highway and rolled down a cliff.

Candlelight Vigil Planned for Dr. Frank Ryan

TMZ has learned … Dr. Frank Ryan’s family, friends and staff are coming together to organize a candlelight vigil for the Hollywood surgeon tonight in Malibu.

The event will take place at 7:30 PM at Zuma Beach — located at 30000 Pacific Coast Highway … roughly 12 miles from the spot on PCH where Dr. Ryan lost control of his jeep yesterday and crashed down into an embankment.

We’re told friends and family wanted the vigil at that particular spot because, “Dr. Ryan LOVED that area … and it is close to his ranch.”

We’re told the event is open to “anyone who knew him.”

Dr. Frank Ryan’s Dog — A Survivor

TMZ has learned Jill, Dr. Frank Ryan’s border collie — who survived the crash that took the doctor’s life — will be OK.

Sources connected with the treatment of the dog tell us, the dog is stable and should recover from her eye and paw injuries. One person from the clinic where the dog was taken after the crash told us, “The CHP was instrumental in saving the dog, by taking her to an emergency facility that was equipped to handle her injuries.”

We’re told the dog was released today to a member of the staff at Dr. Ryan’s ranch. The dog was then taken to her regular vet, who checked Jill out and gave her “a clean bill of health.” The dog is on her way back to the ranch right now.

Doctors Who Fix Capsular Contracture

April 13th, 2010

Capsular contracture is one of the most common breast implant complications. There are four levels of capsular contracture.

Baker Grade 1

With Baker Grade 1 capsular contracture, there is no cause for alarm, because the breast looks soft and natural. Every breast implant patient has ‘capsules’ around their implants, but when the capsule hardens or shrinks, there are problems.

Baker Grade 2

At this level of capsular contracture, the breast is somewhat firm to the touch, but still appears natural.

Baker Grade 3

Capsular contracture at this level is starting to become visibly obvious. The shape of the breasts has a slight distortion and are completely firm to the touch.

Baker Grade 4

Breasts with level 4 capsular contracture are disfigured by hardness and totally distorted in shape. Some afflicted report pain and discomfort.

The biggest question for capsular contracture sufferers is where to find a doctor to fix the problem. Here is a list of physicians with experience in fixing this particular complication.

Edds’ Aesthetic Surgery Center
Gerald G. Edds, M.D., F.A.C.S.
2835 Farrell Crescent
Owensboro, KY 42303-1393
http://www.eddscosmeticsurgery.com/

Dr. Edds has developed a procedure for treating capsular contracture called ‘capsule switch’. According to Dr. Edds’ website:

The “Capsule Switch Procedure” consists of a subtotal or total capsulectomy utilizing meticulous control of bleeding, with the placement of a very thin (0.35mm) implant of e-PTFE, which replaces strategic areas of the former scar and prevents circumferential scar formation and a resulting capsular contracture. E-PTFE is used in many fields of surgery for multiple surgical applications and has an outstanding safety profile. The 0.35mm thickness allows for inhibition of contracting scar formation while being essentially non-palpable.

Doctors who fix implants that have bottomed out

April 13th, 2010

When breast implants ‘bottom out’, it means they have descended too low on the chest, thus making the nipple too high on the breast mound. Luckily, there are doctors who can fix this breast augmentation complication.

Dr Tom Pousti - Temecula, CA

Dr Tom Pousti - Temecula, CA

Dr Tom Pousti repaired the breast implants of the patient above. She was unhappy with the hardness and asymmetry of her breast implants. The patient had her previous saline breast implants were removed, internal sutures and capsulorrhaphy were performed, then 400cc silicone-gel breast implants were placed with submuscularly in both breasts made by Mentor Corporation.

NY housewife sues plastic surgeon for $5 Million

March 8th, 2010

NY housewife Maria Alaimo has sued her plastic surgeon Dr Keith S Berman for $5 Million after he performed a breast augmentation surgery that left her with complications. His staff at his office, plus Internet services My Choice Medical Inc. and 1-800-Be-Your-Best (both of whom referred her to Dr Berman) are include in the suit.

Alaimo claims she was left with 4 breasts after breast augmentation surgery by Dr Berman. Her complication is known as ‘double bubble’, which happens when the breast tissue sags and the implant stays in place, which creates the appearance of two separate breast creases.

Dr Berman insists he explained the risks with Maria Alaimo, but she was only concerned with having a glamorous outcome. She counters that he rushed her into signing a 12 page disclaimer on the day of surgery while also only being concerned about his payment.

According to Staten Island Live:

A second surgery performed by Dr. Berman in July 2003 produced worse results, with more scars.

When Ms. Alaimo refused to allow Dr. Berman to try a third corrective surgery, My Medical Choice picked up all the expenses and sent Ms. Alaimo to Milwaukee, where Dr. Roger Mixter operated in January 2004.

But Ms. Alaimo walked away with more scars and implants that slid downward, making her breasts appear even further deformed.

Alaimo’s botched implants probably look something like this below (the patient below had her breast augmentation fixed by Dr Mark Malek in Scottsdale).

Bad liposuction – can it be fixed?

November 4th, 2009
Tara Reid

Tara Reid

Can bad liposuction be fixed? Yes, but it is not an easy task. Uneven areas can be fixed using a combination of liposucupture and fat grafting injections. The fat is shifted around to create an even plain while the patient is under local anesthesia.

Shauna Sand repairs an errant nipple

October 14th, 2009

Last year, Shauna Sand appeared to have a ’sagging’ nipple. Some thought it the result of a botched breast augmentation, others suggested that she had inverted nipples. Whatever the case, the issue has been taken care of as you can see from these before and after photos.

And now we know why Shauna had the repair done. She just released a ‘celebrity’ sex tape. Shauna claims that the tape was stolen, but sources say that the box cover looks professionally shot and due outtakes from the DVD. Good luck, Shauna!

Nicollette Sheridan – one of the tightest faces in Hollywood

August 18th, 2009
Nicolette Sheridan

Nicolette Sheridan

This photo is a great example of why I believe Nicollette Sheridan has had a facelift. She’s almost 50 and there is literally no sag to her face. Her skin is as tight as a drum and that is simply not possible. She is definitely a Hollywood type who thinks that tight skin equals a youthful appearance and that is simply not true.
